On tap now: Perrin’s Blazin’ Hotbox highlights an odd ingredient

MONDAY 06/06/2016

It’s the world’s most expensive coffee, and it’s made with animal dung. Or rather, it is made with beans that are eaten, partially digested, and then plucked from the feces of the Indonesian civet. Enzymes in the catlike animal’s digestive system remove some of the coffee’s acidity, making for a smoother cup.

100% wild harvested Kopi Luwak, or civet coffee, shines in Perrin’s Blazin’ Hotbox, the Imperial version of the brewery’s popular Hotbox Brown Ale. Cacao nibs from Ecuador and Ghana are also added to the beer for a chocolate-infused flavor that lingers on the tongue.

Between this brew and the Poop Your Pants Chocolate Bock, we’re not sure about Perrin’s excrement obsession, but we sure are fond of their beers!
